RV Trips and Pets: Packing List

If you’re bringing your pet on your next RV vacation, you’ll need to bring along pet-specific items. Below, we cover a basic pet supplies packing list.

Bring Their Usual Food

Plenty of RV travel tips focus on packing – and it’s just as important to make a packing list for your four-legged passengers. Bring along their usual food. Changing up brands and ingredients can result in digestive issues, so pack more food than you think you’ll need. That way, you can avoid having to make an emergency run to the grocery store and being stuck with a different brand than normal.

Bring Their Bed and Blankets

It also helps to bring your pet’s bed and blankets. These items already have their scent on them, which can make your pet more comfortable sleeping on them due to the familiarity. This is especially important on your first few RV trips while your pet is getting used to this new environment.

Bring Toys and Treats

Finally, bring along plenty of toys and treats. You can use them to reward good RV behavior and make the trip more fun for your pet. Be sure to stop frequently throughout the drive in order to let your pet stretch their legs and let them relieve themselves. For dogs, you can take advantage of the outdoor area at many rest stops and take a play break. It’ll make the RV road trip much easier and more enjoyable for them!
